Rava kichadi
Rava kichadi or sooji kichadi is one of the tastiest tiffon of indian dishes. It is made with sooji along with mixed vegetables.
Ingredients:
1cup rava/sooji (roasted)
1/2 cup chopped mixed vegetables (potato, carrot, beans or any of your favourite veg)
green chillies 2-3
chopped onion
pinch of turmeric powder
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1/2 tsp gram dal
pinch of hing powder
oil
salt to taste
Method to prepare rava kichadi:
1. heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. once it crackles, gram dal and fry it. Then add chopped onion, green chillies and turmeric powder. Fry the onion till it gets light brown colour.
2. add the mixed vegetables to it and fry for few minutes.
3. Then add sufficient amount of water to get vegetables cooked and add salt to it.
4. Once the vegetables are cooked, add rava and stir with the spoon continously. make sure the flame is now made simmer. else it gets burned out at the bottom. Add salt according to taste.
5. Stir the kichadi well and add fresh coriander leaves for garnishing.
6. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
