Vazhaikai (banana) Podimas Recipe

Ingredients:

Green Banana – 1
Onion – 1 (chopped)
Oil – 1 tsp
Mustard – 1/2 tsp
Urad dhal – 1 tsp
Saunf – 1/2 tsp
Green Chilly – 1 (chopped)
Coconut gratings – 1 tbsp
Sambar Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – a pinch
Curry leaves – few
Salt – 1 tsp

Method to prepare Vazhaikai Podimas:

1.Cut the banana into two and put in boiling water with skin
2.Let it cook for five to eight minutes. Take it out and peel the skin. Cool it.
You can grate it or gently mash it by hand. I have grated as it gets crispier better while frying.
3.Chop the onion and green chilli.
4.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to crackle. Add urad dhal and fry till it become light brown.
5.Add chopped onion, green chilly, curry leaves and fry well. Add the saunf. Stir for a while.
6.Add banana gratings, salt, coconut gratings, turmeric powder, sambar powder and mix it thoroughly.
7.Close with a lid and keep it in low flame for five minutes.

Vazhaikai podimas is ready now...
