Seppankizhangu aka colocasia roast recipe

How to prepare seppankizhangu (colocasia) roast

Ingredients:

seppankizhangu - 150gms
rice flour - 1tsp
corn flour - 1tsp
red chilli powder - 1tsp
salt to taste
oil
mustard seeds - 1/4 tsp
urad dal - 1/4 tsp
curry leaves - few
hing powder - a pinch

Method:

1. clean the seppankizhangu with water to remove mud and pressure cook for about 3 whistles. keep it aside till it get cooled
2. once it is cooled, remove the outer skin and cut the inner portion into small circles.
3. take a bowl and add rice flour, corn flour, red chilli powder and salt. mix it well.
4. add the small pieces of colocasia into the flour mixture and get it mixed. since colocasia is sticky in nature, it absorbs the flour and get fully coated.
5. heat the oil in a pan and add mustard seeds to crackle. then add urad dal and curry leaves to fry.
6. now add the curry mixture into it and fry it well. keep the flame in low and allow it to fry for few more minutes till it is nicely cooked.
7. if needed check for salt and oil.

seppankizhangu roast is ready now.
